I took a gamble this year and applied in 63a, instead of going for a sure thing in 64a. The ministry increased the quota in 64a this year, which is where I have done most of my deer hunting in the past. With the increased tags, this meant that I would have a chance to get a tag there on my second choice, something that was impossible for the last 15 years or so.
Unfortunately, it didn't work out for me. I'd really like to have a doe tag in 63a, since I would like to hunt from my cottage, and it seems the bucks there are few and far between.

In my particular area of 63a for roughly the last ten years the deer in general have been real scarce. We were fortunate enough last year to have 3 hanging and from what I was hearing is we were one of the luckier gangs as alot went home skunked. Hopefully we are fortunate enough again to do it this year but I'm not holding my breath.

1 for 4 so far in 49, which I think is right on what it should be based on last year's numbers

Successful in 42. This only the 3rd time in almost 20 years.
