Last time I checked the government of Canada isn't in the business of selling guns.

So if some-one is forced to sell items that belong to them isn't it really an all out confiscation of goods?

We need an election like yesterday!!!

Interestingly enough, if it's a static price set, this will likely be challenged, and wind up with an extension, as the amounts being assessed don't necessarily match up with the value of some.

Some people who own rifles in .50BMG are in possession of firearms that far exceeded the $3K mark when purchased. On the face of it, it won't survive that challenge, as with all "appropriation" of private property, it has to be done at fair market value. Not an arbitrary number pulled out of a hat.

To Badenoch's point....mass refusal to comply may be just fine for some....do so at your own peril. ( I'd also keep from advertising same on forums and social media).

Hopefully very few turn theirs in.
Another Liberal ploy attempting to do what appears to be something, when it will actually end as achieving nothing. Plus it serve to ensure the well being of the cross border health of the illegal firearm trade. They are attempting the buy back with law abiding citizens, I can't imagine many criminal casting in on the scheme, unless they can pick up guns on the other side of the border cheaply so they can sell them to the Canadian government and make a profit. Are there to be any checks to ensure this isn't going to happen? I could see such an operation, using a number of straw sellers.

I can see a new industry in smuggling mini-14s into Canada to sell to the Liberals for profit.

Remember when guns were not considered "Scarey". I use to bring my guns to school in my car, so I could go hunting afterwards, that was 38 years ago for me. We left in the car and went hunting after school. When my Mom was a little girl (Age 12) they use to bring their guns in the class room and go rabbit hunting during lunch.

Liberals and their supporters have made it their mission to define ALL GUN OWNERS as evil and as criminals.

X2. It's a total shame the path this country is going down. Poor Canada. As far as guns being scary not a chance! Only the anal orifice standing behind it is what one should be concerned about. With the laws in this country it shouldn't be a issue but instead of dealing with the obvious problems the Liberals prefer to sweep legal and law abiding owners into the same piles as the excrement that it creating the problems as it requires less work which we all know work is a foreign word to a liberal.

Gun rack in the back of every half ton in the parking lot at high school. A .22 range in the basement of the school for the shooting club. My how things have changed. Guess we need the room for additional bathrooms and the litter boxes.
