    Default Traveling with Grouse

    Maybe a stupid,
    Do you have to leave a wing on your grouse when traveling like waterfowl?
    Never gave it much thought but planning on bringing some birds home from moose hunting.

    Nope, but do make sure they are packed in a way that's easily identifiable to show to be within the possession limit

    Multiple species that have been taken may have different bag limits. Although not required by law,retaining identifying plumage comes in handy if checked by CO's at check points.
    If a tree falls on your ex in the woods and nobody hears it,you should probably still get rid of your chainsaw. Just sayin'....

    I would just keep the wings attached to the breast to avoid any BS. If you haven't did it before (youtube It) lay the bird on its back and step on both wings, then pull the legs. The breast meat will come off cleaned with the wings attached.

    Wings on for me, just too avoid BS with COs.Plus a field dress is good for are other friends and less trash back at camp.

    I do pluck about half my birds and roast them, as long as it's a clean shot.
