What's some of the go to collars out there right now with a beeper? Also if I wanted to go to GPS, what collar should I be looking at?

Depends on what you're going to be doing and how you train your dog.

I've ran Sportdog Collars for years, with no issues.

Recently as a backup system I also have an inexpensive ipets e-collar pair that seems to work just fine.

    As for GPS? Dogtra.

But depending on breed, they may not range as far as you think.

Not a setter. Can't be giving away my secrets quite yet. Pup comes home Aug 26. I run a dogtra on the cocker and love it. But I'll need one for a pointing dog.

I had the Garmin Astro, to my knowledge it did not have a beeper, but it worked well as a tracking tool and was able to sync with other collars so you can see all dogs on each individual hand held unit. There is also software that can be downloaded so the collars and handhelds can be seen on a laptop, if you get that far in your training endeavours.

I've had the Tritronics upland beeper and ecollar for 10 years with zero issued. Garmin bought out Tritronics.
