Quiet
The forum is so quiet and we're closing in on September... anyone else gearing up to get the dogs going?

Got the GSP geared up. Trying to get him out to a game farm on birds before the opener.
The Lab is steady...always is.
Been out to the club busting clays on the regular. Because getting out and missing shots on live birds is for chumps.
Note...no one is too busy to practice....otherwise is just an excuse.

I've been working on getting the cocker on rabbits. Been doing lots of drags and retrieves. He's always been focused on birds but this year we're going to be doing more rabbit hunting. Hawking season opens on the 1st but the bird isn't quite ready yet and this heat is gonna have to break a bit for me to be out beating brush.

Waiting on the heat to break to get the dogs up and running. Finished dogs so other than getting them into shape not much to do.

Planning to go up to Bissett Creek for camping and grouse at the end of Sept with my son and maybe trout.

Has too much time on their hands
Pup comes home in October, so I’ll be mostly enjoying basic obedience and living this season vicariously through you guys

Nice! I have a pup coming home tomorrow. She'll be just learning to be a good house dog this fall since she's only 8 weeks old right now. The cocker still has his turbos installed so I won't be dog-less for the season.

Great morning to get out for some exercise. Cool, dew soaked fields kept the dogs cool however summer coach potatoe time has them out of shape. Over zealous enthusiasm had them running more than hunting which got them winded after an hour. Less than a month to go but should have them fit and in form before than.
