    Default Butchers in Bancroft area.

Seems most of my local game meat cutters are out of the business, very hard to locate a butcher and most of them will not take in a bear.

Seems to be a combination of government regulations, aging, that have shut them down.

Not really complaining but just another heads up to make sure you have a person lined up to cut before you drop that bear in particular.

No John sold all his equipment last year, I just called him a day ago. The Red Steer on 62 is closed and sold. Jacks up on 28 are not taking in deer.

I have found the Highland Butchers in Wilberforce as an alternate and Tagged out up by McArthurs Mills is another alternate. Both are pretty far away from me, but I wanted you guys to know what was going on.

GW I think if you have the skill set to do a nice job and the cold storage you can make good money, however its feast and fast, all coming at one time. The government regulations seem pretty bad and probably preventing some folks opening up even for the season.

Or……a good time to learn how to do it yourself.
For me, the meat butchering with my wife and daughter is part of the hunt experience and I know my meat is perfectly prepared.

My challenge is being off grid with no ready access to a freezer and storage, probably the same for many hunt camps. If we get it processed by a butcher and properly wrapped normally you can pick it up after the hunt.

Yes and much easier. When I hunted with a group that’s what we use to do, less trouble for the couple of guys that do all the work.
