    Default Its been a while.

Hello all, been a while since I've been on this forum. Was going through some transitions at home got a new job and just been busy overall. Good to see the familiar members are still on here. How has everyone been and how is deer season preparations going!?. This is the first year I've been unsuccessful in the anterless tag. Gave the ministry a call apperantly 81 is dwindling in available tags. From what I was told there wasn't even enough tags to get into the second choice draws. Got a new savage rifle the other day as well in .308 ( yes I know you can't use rifles in 81) and a little off topic but I've set up a 130 gallon saltwater aquarium as well. I also got a nice tom in the spring as well!! IMG-20220831-WA0008.jpgSnapchat-1308268246.jpgSnapchat-1340833627.jpg[ATTACH]

on a serious note, be careful about salt damage ... at one point i had close to 1K gallon between different systems, and I can tell u it will rust Everything. Salt particles will remain airborn for a long time, and can get into anything. cover the tank and exhaust the air outside ... use better air filters for ure heating/cooling system and change often as well.

    Congrats on the turkey,

My son lives in Shelburne and he hasn't had an antlerless tag in two years. Its weird the controlled hunt allows for the harvest of any deer but bow hunters can't get an antlerless tag.

Really? This is the first time all of our group hasn't gotten tags. Its only me who doesn't have one. Everyone else got theirs. Did you also notice how there is an option now for 81? There never use to. We always had to use the controlled hunt to hunt in 81?

Dude, there was a thread I started a few weeks ago about how I was unsuccessful in WMU81 for antlerless....it makes my season tougher because I have to travel further to another WMU where I did draw an antlerless tag. Not enough public land for us newbies. Whatever...

Does anybody know why there are fewer available tags in WMU 81 this year?

As I said in my OP I havent been on this forum in about 2 years give or take so I apologize if I didn't see your earlier thread.

Everytime we've had to put in our antlerless tags there was never an option for 81 other than this year. We always put 82a and then put in for controlled hunt for 81a.

You can always apply for 81a controlled hunt and it will allow you to hunt in 81 for that week?

Yeah, of course, no problem. Just a convenient coincidence someone else had a query about the same wmu.

I remember I drew an antlerless tag last year in 81...I think you may be mistaken about being historically able to put in for antlerless in 81.
