A couple of times over the summer,I like to put the boat in at Rice Lake Marina in Bewdley. Usually, the OPP are waiting at the landings for boats coming in at dusk without nav lights. People don't realize that the lights are supposed to be on 1/2 hour BEFORE official sunset and AFTER official sunrise, the exact opposite of firearm casing regs. We need to keep an eye on the time.
If a tree falls on your ex in the woods and nobody hears it,you should probably still get rid of your chainsaw. Just sayin'....

Since we’re talking about lights….maybe someone could clarify for me and anyone else interested….

I have the green/red post and the high mast white at the rear……near dusk I turn on the white at the rear even if we aren’t moving, and I only turn on the green/red if under power….My boat switch is dual and provides for this function….I think this is safe, but am I legal ?

Dispaly an all around white light astern when anchored.....keyword being "anchored". That's the reason for the two-position switch.

Don't blame the CO. I wouldn't want to be friends with those that disregard the safety of others much less their own.

My duck boats are wired for nav lights and I use a 12v deep cycle battery for them, plus I have a million candlepower spotlight as well as another battery and spotlight for the guy in the front seat. I've had close encounters with idiots running with no lights on and if I could have got their number I would have reported them.
