Luther Marsh Partner
Hi,
Been a very long while, time to dust off the decoys...
Looking for a Luther Marsh partner for Wednesday October 5th. Need someone with Luther experience and can navigate the lake, safety first. I only scouted couple of the boat launches, never hunted it.
My equipment or yours, PM for details.
Can anyone provide an update on the water level this year?
Thanks,
RB

Water is low.I would guess 2 feet of water is"missing".
Makes stump infested areas of the lake being even more treacherous.
That is the "end"of my knowledge of the lake, since i hunted ducks/geese there maybe 15 years ago(could be 20).
Good luck and always watch ahead of you.

I’m also interested to know what was meant here.
I’m also interested in the water levels. I’m assuming water is down, weeds are up and the stumps are protruding everywhere.
Hope you get out there and things work out.
Cheers,

I remember going there in 1999, it was not ideal with a 14’ boat with a 15hp motor. Water was low and ended up carrying it about 75 feet to get water, then it was bottoming out every so often and the prop was laced with weeds so often it would have been easier with a canoe. Getting pelted with stray shot and having to tell people not to set up across from us made it not even worth the drive. Too busy for my liking.

What I mean is you've specifically asked for someone with knowledge of Luther to provide a hunt for you. Someone who's spent gas and time hunting and scouting the area. Saying "I've only scouted a couple of the boat launches, but never hunted it" leaves a lot to be desired on your end.
Anyone with experience hunting the marsh already has the gear -- so what are you offering this person for taking you out?

I've been invited out from board members in the past. I've also taken guys out hunting and to gun clubs on my own dime. Simply asking if someone wants to partner with me, never did ask for the X - I take it you're not interested?
Anyway, called Luther twice regarding water levels, no response from the office yet.
Good luck everyone!

water is very low, Id say 2 feet lower than usual... credit to you for trying to connect with other like minded hunters to share the outdoors with, hope it works out for you, all the best to you this season

Hopefully you were able to connect with someone. Always kind of tricky hunting a spot you haven't been to in a long time. I'd suggest trying to go out in the afternoon. Go early and scout it out a bit. Try not to wait till last light to come back in either.
I have never hunted Luther and know nothing about it.
If you make it, good luck out there!
