Bear Archery Species EV RTH BOW
Hello Everyone
I’m new to bow hunting and was wondering about the Bear Archery Species EV RTH Bow…any feed back would be appreciated. This bow is on sale for $499 from $599 at BassPro.8BE7C331-919E-46B4-81C1-6DBAB7A54E93.jpg

I dont have alot of experience with bear but it has a an ibo of 320 and 80% let off. The RTH accessories will do everything you need them to do. Later you may wish to personalize the bow. From reviews I have seen on prior bear bows is that they may lack in some areas compared to other brands but its unlikely that you would notice if you haven't shot alot of other bows and its also not at the same price point as these other bows. Bottom line it will do everything you need to do and take any animal you will be after. I suspect you will be happy with it. I would probably start with a lower draw weight so you can start with correct form and build the proper muscles to draw and hold without over straining. Good luck!!

I've been shooting a Bear Cruzer g2 which is just a bit cheaper than the Species for about 4 years now. I learned to shoot and tune with this bow and have shot a few hundred arrows through it. I did end up upgrading the site and the rest after a while but that's more of a personal preference.
Definitely you will get your money worth from buying the package especially if you are only hunting with it.
One problem I've had with mine is some hardware coming loose after shooting a lot of target practice so that's something to watch for.

It's a pretty short ATA bow. What's your draw length? If you're new to bows, my suggestion would be to shop at a local bow shop instead of a big box store. You're not too far from Shooters Choice/The Bow Shop. They're more likely to take the time to set up properly from the start

Lowbanks is dead on
a poorly set up or tuned bow no matter the brand or cost is pointless.
I don't know how qualified a Bass Pro employee would be when it comes to bow set up. You're always best to have a qualified bow technician set your bow up for maximum efficiency and accuracy

To add to the point about proper setup, learning to recognize the difference between human error and issues with your bow can make becoming and staying accurate much easier.
