Post your deer mounts!
Controlled hunt is a week and a half away.
Wanna get the juices going.
Would love to see some mounts and stories!
I'll start.
My dad took this guy in the morning 2019 I believe. About a 150 yard shot with shotgun. Rifled barrel biggest deer hes shot to date. Was on the edge of a field he was set up in the middle of the field in a pop up blind.
Don't have a good picture of the mount but he did everything himself.
I'm waiting to get a nice buck. I will bring it to the taxidermist and do a full shoulder mount. 20191120_133741.jpg

I had a taxidermist mount the antlers of the first buck that I ever shot (a 10-pointer) on a plaque. The skull cap is covered in suede leather. Cost me $125 back in 1986. Since then, I usually just cut the skull cap off and fasten the antlers to the wall. A few years back, I shot a decent buck and gave the head to a friend who got a taxidermist to do a European mount.
The antlers shown in this picture are from a massive buck shot over 70 years ago. The photo doesn’t do the antlers justice as the rack is massive 1266C16F-FC1F-4F47-ACEE-789008884915.jpg

Sam that rack has some serious mass to it.
Anyone do a shoulder mount recently?
