Cochrane Moose Hunt
Well we just got back from moose hunting in Cochrane area.
The weather was probably the worst we have ever experienced hunting moose as it rained the first 5 days and night and then had a near blizzard go thru Wednesday night into Thursday and the only good day was Friday morning being overcast and then it rained Friday afternoon. The best day was Saturday morning when we were leaving 14 degrees and sunny go figure. We did had a cow/calf tag and a calf tag but the only shootable caw and calf we saw was on a major road so no shot could be taken. We did see a bull, bear, wolf and linx and a good time was had by all.
Till next year.

The best successful hunts I was ever on were during the worst weather imaginable. Glad you all had a great time. That's really all that matters.
If a tree falls on your ex in the woods and nobody hears it,you should probably still get rid of your chainsaw. Just sayin'....

At least you had some sightings and had a good time. Always next year.

We hunted in WMU 27 and stayed at a really nice cottage not to far from where we hunted.
We did do a few trips further out but all the wildlife sightings were within15Kms of the camp.
The bull I saw i was able to bring it in close to shoot if we had the tag but again still enjoyed the experience

Sounds like you had the same weather we did……rain, more rain, wind, snow sleet, but a bull did come to call !
