I’ve been seeing good action in 49 as well. I’d say perhaps fewer fawns than in previous years but lots of does and bucks, including two large 10 pointers. One has a split G2, hoping to see him during the rut.

15 minute drive on 534 Sunday around 6 pm. Saw 9 different does spread over 4 different locations.

I know a guy who said 2008 was about the greatest deer hunting he'd seen in 47 to basically none or 1 deer the last few.. hopefully things are on the upswing in those areas..

I hunted 47 from 1970 to 2002. There was a year in the 80's I believe that had so many deer you were almost tripping over them. A group I knew with 14 guys were tagged out in 3 days and were letting deer go. Was pretty much like that for 2 years in a roll. Everyone filled their tags. Then the year after that there were no more deer to be found. Winters were hard and all those deer shot was real hard on them. After that it was hard to see more then one in the week I was up there. Haven't been back since, so it nice to hear the deer are coming back.

All the deer I had on the camera over the summer in 53a seem to be gone. Went out today and expected to see some scrapes and rubs, nothing around. I have seen this in the past and done well so I won’t get discouraged.
