Winter duck/goose hunting
I was wondering how you would be able to hunt them in the winter. Like what do you do when a lake, pond or swamp freezes? If you know anything about it or have done it please answer to this. This is for areas 42 and 43

Depends,
early winter, first ice .... u can easily break up sections and set up decoys,
towards the end of season, most swamp ducks are gone, so have to get on larger bodies of water, I usually hunt Diver ducks then. Its alot of fun, but not very good eating.

If there's no open water, there's no birds!
Find the big water or flowing rivers.

Thin ice? Break it open, and drop a couple of dekes and flashers in.
Or.....
Find an open area, lay out a big black tarp, and put some snow on the edges to hold it down.
"Camo" is perfectly acceptable as a favorite colour.

Creeks are great places to hunt ducks after the ponds freeze up. I find them right into January.
