Any hunters on Detroit river in Windsor area?

I just bought a 14 foot alum boat with 20hp and would like to convert it to a duck hunting boat. I have done some research that I can hunt on Detroit river in Lasalle near fighting Island. Just want to confirm with you if it’s OK to hunt along grassy island and shoot toward fighting island. Any suggestions on how to build the boat and where to hunt is much appreciated
