December hunt strategies that have worked for you

With the Late season controlled hunt almost here I was wondering if anyone had some wisdom to share to help others fill their tag. Weather it be the use of scents , calls, decoys , rattling or just wearing a lucky pair of boxers.
Personally the only tried and true thing that has worked for me is just long hours in the stand making as little movement and noise as possible.

I'm not much for sitting, so mostly still hunt. That being said, I think the real key is just to spend time in the woods. If its cold the deer will get up and move from time to time, although its probably in the thick stuff after being pressured all season. Don't pick the spot you can see a long ways, pick the spot you can get a 25yd shot.
The other hunters pushing bush, will keep some deer moving, so just be out there.
Pushing bush is no doubt the most effective this time of year, but I like solo hunting and just spending time in the bush.
As for calls/rattling, I think they have heard more than enough hunters doing those for the past couple months and they are largely ineffective. There will always be exceptions, so as a last resort, sure give it a try, but I wouldn't expect much action, and more than likely will send them the other way this time of year.

I sit in a tree stand or blind, never been much for scents or calls. I find feed and a good bedding area and set up accordingly.

Hunting the 81A property again this week. Setup the blind on a good trail intersection and not much else other than puttin time in the bush. Pretty heavy pine forest, but the landowner said there's been a big buck walking around.

Much easier to pattern the deers movement after a good snowfall and act accordingly... Apples have always been a go to bait for me this time of year...

What he said. Find their dinner, set up near it or between it and the bedroom and you’ll get some dinner!

Hunt feeding areas more often. Which means hunting evenings.
