Experiencing late-season waterfowl
https://oodmag.com/experiencing-late-season-waterfowl/
For many hunters, the season's end is a grand finale in which waterfowl can put on a display not seen at any other time.
What can I but enumerate old themes,
First that sea-rider Oisin led by the nose
Through three enchanted islands, allegorical dreams,
Vain gaiety, vain battle, vain repose,
Themes of the embittered heart, or so it seems.
-- "The Circus Animals’ Desertion" by William Butler Yeats

Excellent article. Thanks.

Been there, done that and have the memories. I've ended the year in a Tee shirt or so cold you had to warm up your words before you used them. Hard to explain the feeling that it's the end of the Season , sad yes but also excited knowing another year will be coming and new hunts to be had.
Good Luck & Good Hunting !

Years not over bud. Just gotta spend time in the truck with binos finding where they want to be. Big fat mallards will stay around if there's food and open water.

The thing is I have been scouting and finding tons of geese and ducks, they just on private property and few public land I been trying, days I go to hunt they not there and days I'm not hunting they there LOL, I was told it's allowed to hunt on the Rideau River between Manotic area I think and on as long as not near houses and other buildings, I am just not daring to do much incase I mess up and get in trouble, and as far as private land I been yelled at twice to go with respect ask permission lol

I can tell and show you a few places you can go outside Ottawa.
Marlborough Forest
Paden Road (Also opposite from Paden Road is an old trail, but I have not gone down there yet, but might soon.)
Heaphy Road
Rogers Steevens, Parking Lot 5 (should be a sign posted)
