Gun owners news conference.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gor_MlIFkkc
This was an excellent news conference and really the reporters questions could not put a dent in the position put forward. But what I did notice is that there were several questions about what the Liberals could do to make things better. The most obvious was "just leave us alone".
I have got the sneaky feeling that the Liberals might have put some of these "contentious" provisions into the legislation with the INTENT to withdraw them later and appear very reasonable to the voting public?

The Liberals already have the "voting" public completely snowed at he best of times, anyway,so,appearing reasonable to them wouldn't enter the equation,in fact,it could seem a huge flip-flop in the face of opposition which may just serve to infuriate their voting base. It's said that Canadians don't traditionally vote politicians "in",they vote them "out" instead.

Looking forward to see what's going to happen here. First Nations are against the proposed new gun laws siting treaty rights. Will there be two laws as per usual...

I'm watching CTVNews. Jagmeet Singh and the entire FN leadership along with all the firearm advocacy groups are screaming from the rooftops. Some Liberal MP's are in full revolt. Without the NDP support, several Liberal MP's and the CPC already at the Liberal's throats,Trudeau could be in real danger of a non-confidence vote. I don't think the Bloc alone can keep the Liberals propped up. This is starting to get g-o-o-d.

I am pretty confident they know they have created a mess here and will be dropping a lot of this legislation.

No, what they want is to be included in the discussion - which they weren't and still haven't been , as usual.

Yes, Gilroy they have created a mess, it began with the Canadian Firearm Act and has been spiraling to ever new level of ridiculousness. There is not a firearm that has been made that wouldn't qualify as an assault weapon. The liberals are out to rid our civilized world of guns, that was their agenda from the get go. It has changed. They are just employing a bit different strategy to achieve their end.

The government now says they are now going to consult with various groups about the amendment. The obvious question is, why didn't they do this beforehand? It would seem they were hoping to slip this past an unsuspecting population. It is apparent that this didn't work as they had hoped.

Surprise, surprise! Its amazing they just didn't shove it through with an OIC. Maybe some of their back bencher saw the writing on the wall with respect to their future political careers and actually said something to get their attention to.
