Supposed to be messy out there on the rds starting Friday and continuing over the weekend.
Stay safe give yourself plenty of time and maybe prepare for an alternative cooking method in case the power is distributed by the fierce winds.

Thinking of a turkey this year what's on the menu for your dinner plans. ?

We just had a big prime rib dinner last week so I dout the family wants another so soon lol..

    Drive safe everyone

Not a Merry Christmas for Vancouver Island. My brother lives there and they have had 25 +- cms. of snow and -20 degrees. He says Vancouverites are going crazy , but he said that as he is an Ontario boy no problem for him . Sad for folks trying to get home for Christmas as the Vancouver airport is almost shut down.

He will probably go really crazy when he gets his heating bill.

If the forecasts are correct Ontario is in for a major winter event starting tomorrow and moving into the weekend. Please don't let the "home for the holidays" mentality sway your better judgement. I have come perilously close to meeting my maker twice because of pressures to "get home." There are worse things that not getting together with family and friends at Christmas. Being in the hospital or morgue are two of them.

I'm working away from home and don't have much choice but to drive, hoping to get an early start before it gets really bad.

    Merry Christmas everyone!

No turkey this year, prices are nuts and we do not like the greaseball kind. Making a beef and pork with potatoes, onion and garlic tourtiere. It's not the ground meat kind, it's the one with meat chunks.

Bring on the storm, I challenge it, hey maybe we get an ice storm 2.0.

Having enjoyed the original ice storm and no power for 3 weeks I'm ready for this one.

I have enough firewood for 6 years I can cook no problem without electricity and have 200 litres of fuel on hand for my generator.

    Here's hoping.

Just a friendly reminder. The weatherman gets paid whether he’s right or wrong. Honestly it’s a great job, lol. Anyways, be careful if you’re travelling on the remote chance they get it right this time.
