I purchased some (expensive) Energizer lithium AA batteries for a trail camera hoping they would last a couple of years. They worked great until we got a -10 cold snap when the camera stopped sending pictures. After a while I pulled the camera and tested the batteries and found 2 that were low voltage and probably were the problem. I contacted Energizer and they got back to me very quickly and opened a "case". After submitting a couple of pictures from the batteries and a few weeks I received a cheque for $24US. I would have been happy with a couple of replacement batteries. I'm normally a Duracell guy but I think I may switch. TC

When they come out on market ,
where excellent but lately they are not but I steel use them in trail cameras and my handheld GPS
They last lot longer than other batteries

Use the same ones in my cam also. Great batteries

They refunded me for the cost of an 8 pack a few years ago as one battery was low when I unpacked them. I now test every battery before putting them in my cams. I get a year out of them, but expecting 2 years is a little optimistic in my mind.
My refund was only $15.99 so they sure have went up in price.

Next year I will test them before hand as well, just never thought of it before. I should have said 2 seasons rather than years. I put them up for a few months in the spring for turkeys and then in Sept. again until Jan. in the fall. I've got Duracell alkalines that are still good after 2 seasons so I expected more from lithium. TC

Testing each battery beforehand is sound advice. Could save a lot of hassles down the road.

How are you testing the batteries? I would think if you tested for correct voltage they could still fail under load.

I have a smart charger and I just test the voltage with that. All the others were around 1.6-1.7v the bad ones were 1.38 and 1.35. TC
