Ask a CO: Is the CF1 an acceptable substitute I.D. card for veterans to fish free in Ontario?
https://oodmag.com/ask-a-co-is-the-c...ee-in-ontario/
This reader asks if the CF1 is a suitable form of veteran identification, allowing them to fish free in Ontario.
What can I but enumerate old themes,
First that sea-rider Oisin led by the nose
Through three enchanted islands, allegorical dreams,
Vain gaiety, vain battle, vain repose,
Themes of the embittered heart, or so it seems.
-- "The Circus Animals’ Desertion" by William Butler Yeats

The CF1 card is also issued to National Defense "Partners". Like DCC. So one can be in possession of a CF1 card, yet not be a veteran.
However, actual Veterans are issued a CF1 card with a different colour, and the word "Veteran" clearly marked.
Just have your NDI20, or apply to VAC and get your NDI75, it takes nothing to do really. Small amount of effort to take advantage of a free fishing opportunity.
"Camo" is perfectly acceptable as a favorite colour.

Last summer,I was checked by federal fisheries officers (Lake Ontario) and asked for my license. I told her I was a senior and didn't need it. She was unaware that seniors fished free in Ontario, made a phone call to verify and was told to only accept a valid driver's license or birth certificate.
If a tree falls on your ex in the woods and nobody hears it,you should probably still get rid of your chainsaw. Just sayin'....

Getting to the point where you can probably show them a polio vaccination scar and qualify too.
