Not yet but I was in Ottawa in the 90's (can't remember the exact year) and Alan Rock stood up on the podium in front of 200,000 of us and said they believe only the police and military should have firearms so that has been their agenda ever since. TC

That might well have been, but please remember since then Conservatives were voted in with big majorities and should have enshrined these provisions right into law or even the Constitution. That was not done?

Why the blame is on Conservaites for this.
They never intended to take the guns in the first place.

This comparison is almost as fair as : Blaming the homeowner of not having grating on their windows on his house-which was broken into , and the house was ransacked.

Yup can't blame the home owner....but then again sure wouldn't want them to manage my home security.

They get the blame because they were given a mandate by a majority of Canadian voters to end this wedge issue and when they had the votes and were in power for years did nothing to this festering sore. If you want to look into the history of gun control issues in Canada you will get a few nasty shocks about who proposed and passed changes over the years.

It appears that "festering sore" was used as a tool to their advantage. I'm not overly optimistic that it won't be used as such again.
If a tree falls on your ex in the woods and nobody hears it,you should probably still get rid of your chainsaw. Just sayin'....

Interesting read about KC and the gun control issue vs PC-Thank You guys for the heads up.

While i did not read the "whole long story "list available on the net about Kim C.and other PC gun control blaming stuff what i have read makes me think and I can not get away from the feeling- the blame is just a diversion, and "sharing"of responsibilities.

While novel and "big"the changes imposed by Kim at the time were - to a great degree"reasonable" "non limiting/confiscating "and they were pretty much "NON avoidable"!To any Governement at that time.
After all-we were less then 2 years from the Montreal massacre.Something NEEDED to be done. Maybe we should say Thank You to Kim,because who knows what else the left would impose AT that TIME! Did anyone blaming Kim, thought about that?
    Knowing their apporach-likely more"in depth"and "hurting"changes would take place.AT that TIME!

Today-long after the sad Montreal massacre(1989-2021= 32 years!!!) the Left is STILL using that ocassion, for justifying their actions . TODAY! While conveniently "being quiet"aboth the truth behind PortaPique massacre-as trigger point and justification of the latest gun grab.

Yet-we tend to lean into this set of disinformation and half truth. That works only for those, who wants majority of Canadians to follow half truths and the "lets share the blame-so we do not look that bad"game.
Why we throw out the fact that Harper dismantled the vasteful Gun Control? Brought upon us by....?

I am no PC memeber, and have many things i disagree with them-but guys, just think for a second!

What did the Romans say- Divide and Rule?
    Somehow......familiar term,eh?

You are right, so I hope that if we see a change in government or even if its the same that the gun community in Canada insists that ANY LEGISLATIVE changes proposed in the future do not come via Orders in Council.

Firearms laws affect the whole nation, so need full debate in Parliament before changes are made. IMHO.

As you can see by the Alberta stance and I believe Saskatchewan the country is already demanding this.
