    Default River bottom coyote

Got to the farm early and found the walking easier as the crest of ice on the surface that made walking in the field/bush dangerous last week had all but melted allowing for safer walking.
I started off with some coyote howls, some challenge barks and finally some dying rabbit calls. It took about 15 minutes before this small female come in right to the call. The call was only about about 8 yds away from me and coyote made it to about 4 yds of it before I shot it in the chest. She looked huge in the 3x scope

I am using the foxpro hammer jack.... They got a new version out now. Mine is about 4-5 years old and is holding up well..... The screen on the remote is scratched up and with the wording of the calls being so small, it makes it hard for me to see the screen words well. And the buttons on the remote are started to show wear. Overall, for the amount of times I use and abuse it (not gentle on my stuff at all) it is holding up well.

Great job Frank! I love river bottoms. You pics look so familiar i'd swear you were hunting on one of my properties on the Boyne River.

I use to fish that river (just off of Airport Rd) many years back when I was living just N of Toronto. Lots of opportunities and rainbows back then, I am guessing not so much anymore... Small world at times.

Well maybe we crossed paths back in the day. I have rainbow fished on the stretch between 3rd line of Mulmur and Airport Road since the early 80s. Being a local boy i had and still have permission on properties in that area (for fishing and hunting). Also rainbow fish the Pine just north of there. Still good fishing there. Buddy of mine owns over 300 acres with over a mile of frontage on the Pine. Slowly but surely though buddies are dying off, getting divorced, or selling out etc and know fewer and fewer people. Helps though that i have a local business and do work for every township in the county and know every mayor and every councilor in every township.
