Toronto Barking Up The Wrong Tree.
Apparently dog owners are being instructed to NOT ALLOW THEIR DOGS to bark excessively in an off leash dog park after residents complained of the noise.
You really cannot make this chit up Dogs aren't allowed to bark at Toronto dog park anymore (blogto.com).
I feel it incumbent on me to make some suggestions for the City of Toronto and its councilors. Options:
(a) Ban everybody in Toronto from owning a dog.
(b) Issue hearing protection for all affected persons within ear shot of the dog park.
(c) Ban all councilors or city staff who approved these signs in the dog park.
We could also go the radical route and arrange a Freedom Convoy Style mass dog protest, with dogs peeing all over the park's in protest.

Just start feeding all the Coyotes. That'll take care of the problem. LOL
If a tree falls on your ex in the woods and nobody hears it,you should probably still get rid of your chainsaw. Just sayin'....

yup don't understand people. When the neighbourhood got redeveloped they put in a row of townhouse adjacent to a railway line in their backyard. Though at the time the rail line was rarely used it was still active. Boy should of seen how fast those house got snapped up. Of course now that line is used by the Go trains coming down from Keswick. Should here them cry how the train noise is hurting them.

.
Or they should
follow the advise i got from a local Cop many moons ago(who knocker on my door at 2 am.......saying i thought you guys are up,because the TV was on?!)that he is following up on a noise complaint for my dog.I will face major charges if they keep receiving barking complaint.
One of my neighbor apparently did not like my dog barking! The dog was actually not bad,if one is asking me.
Long story short-when asked how come a dog can not bark-and/or when the dog can bark the answer was -never.I asked also how can I prevent a dog from barking?he said:
I can take the dog and have the dog's vocal cords removed by a vet!!!
I almost fell on my a.......s!!!
When asked-how about animal welfare, he just shrugged his shoulders.Truth to be told-the idea was not his,but a direction from our wise City Authorities !
As an alternative- I selected to have the dog wear a noise triggered citronella collar when deemed advisable.
The poor dog was shaking in his whole body from fear of triggering it ,any time i was to put the damn thing on him.
They want animal rights-they encourage ppl to have dogs, but the dogs can not be DOGS............

Its one thing barking in the afternoon another at 2 am. I would be knocking on your door too if your dog was keeping me up. That's just neighborly courtesy.

I've been on both ends of this, not at 2 am mind you, but it's definitely one of those debates that can become heated. I received a threatening letter with a phone number.
I will say, when I was the problem it was only once, and it was corrected with training and effort. That's the way my neighbors used to be. Direct and honest.

yup. Nova's a barker especially if the neighbors german shepard is out. He know's well enough when I say "Quiet" its time to shut it. Unfortunately dogs are dogs so those times he chooses to ignore me the e-collar goes on to keep him line, though don't have to turn it on these days. Never liked the bark collars as don't know if the correction is as accurate as the e-collar.

I also used the e-collar for a brief time, the only complaint I had was when I wasn't home. I had a dog door and my pal Charles decided he would bark from 5am when I left until about 8 when he finally gave up. No more dog door after that.

In response to the article, I have 1 question, why would you put a dog park in the middle of a residential area? Obviously the city is a noisy place to begin with, but I'd imagine that dog owners are the minority and I can see why there might be a conflict. There's plenty of parks that have space away from houses. Along Lakeshore there's plenty of space.

Never said the dog was barking at 2 am-said the cop was knocking on my door at 2 am.
