    Set up for the river .....

    You could add a side floaters you can increase stability (If you going with a dog ...)
    and load capacity. I increased mine by 100-150 kg

    Sounds like what you need is a used 15’ Scott Wilderness fibreglass canoe.
    If your looking for new, Abitibi Co makes them now.
    Great stable and easy canoe to paddle.

    As far as design goes the Prospector in 16 or 17 feet is hard to beat.
