Stranger laid track is the best

When training our dogs to trail blood scent we first run the dogs on some deer blood drops applied by the handler (owner) of the dog.

When doing so, we run the risk the dog learning to trail the owner's scent trail and not the deer blood. It is important after the dog learns the initial 'game' to have a stranger (not a household member) lay a trail of deer blood for your dog to run.

Remember to keep it fun for the dog with a reward system given immediately after the end of the trail.
