    Default right place right time

Calm frosty morning shut down what little activity seen yesterday. Know most people would choose setting up next to the roost however had my sights set on the strut zone. Dawn broke without a gobble as the sun rose watched a line of nine birds exit the roost bush cut across the field and dropped into a gully where lost sight of them. Called once to let them know I was waiting for them to no reply. Again most not getting a response would run and gun but with a pack full of patience and a cozy corner to settle in felt confident they'll show. Was taking a bit of a cat nap when a shock gobble to a backing up construction vehicle woke me up. The second gobble was enough to be let know barely had time to adjust position and turn on the go pro.
Pair trotted in to see who's on their turf, only one left.

Well done ! Pasted him pretty good by the looks of it. What was that 25 yards maybe ? What kind of Boomstick and loads were you using ? Really like your blind set up... au natural.
