Good hunt! In future, you may want to get to a downed bird quicker and step on their neck. From experience, I’ve seen many get whacked, flop around a bit then right themselves and take off running ! Just a suggestion ..

that's why I stayed put with bead on it, even after still carried the gun till recovered. Had a couple "dead" birds get up and go they were geese but applies to turkeys too
