Bearded hen?
I got this from a friend in Michigan - this is in his back yard.
I'd guess it's got to be a hen - but that's a pretty good beard for a hen.

my first turkey I shot was a bearded hen. Beard was about 6" long and it was strutting all the way into my decoys. I saw a bearded hen last spring, its beard looked to be a full bushy 8". I was with 5 other hens and a nice tom. I got set up to ambush them as they walked the field edge. I was hiding behind a small bush, saw the hen with beard coming first, was all ready to take her at 10yds, but when they were behind the bush the tom must have switched places as he came out first so took him instead, but hen did have a really nice beard

Ii harvested a bearded hen many years ago. Only weighed about 12 pounds and a 5 1/2 inch beard. Best tasting bird out of over 2 dozen others I got..............................Daniel
