    Default Turkey hunt

Hey everybody, just trying to figure out if Malbrough forest was open at this time of year? Hoping to get out for turkey , never seen turkey there, but since I am only familiar with that forest I'd like to try my luck!

It's open, but you can't drive a car or truck in because the gates are closed and this is technically prohibited from April - Sept. There are turkeys there, but the hunting is different from what most people think of when they think of turkey hunting. For example, there are no farm fields to sit on the edge of. There are some large clearings if you know where to look, but as they usually have one of the forest roads passing through or very close, I don't know how much success you would have setting up near them. I've lost access to my regular hunting spot on private property near there, so I have been considering trying Marlborough again for turkeys. Whenever I've hunted there before it was a challenge.

Oh yah eh, I had few spots in mind to try but definitely needs to be driven to get to them spots, or els it's a very far walk, especially when I don't really know what to expect. I could try to walk through the bushes not too far in and scout some promising spots.. dunno what els to think of since there's no driving , I'll try my luck. I know other spots but they like 3h drive

Yes, the issue is that it is a very far walk. Of course, if you try it, you'll notice that people still access the place year-round with ATVs etc.

That is true, but people also just drive atvs and dirt bikes in there year round for fun. I admit that I've done it too. This is part of the reason that you should not expect turkeys to be flying down into these clearings that are near roads. The animals know there is year-round traffic on the roads and in these clearings.

Yah it's very true, I noticed last year the small amount of ducks that landed on water there were soo intense! Any small movement no matter how far you are they would flush.
I was at malbrough today for 6hrs, saw nothing heard nothing, but like you said i did hear atvs and guys being loud so I am not surprised .
