    Default Trolling Motor batteries..

Looking at upgrading my trolling motor batteries when I pick up my boat in two weeks.

Currently has two mixmatched (Group 31 and a group 24 or 27) batteries and I want to go two group 31.

What is everyone else running for trolling motor? they will be powering a 70lb powerdrive V2 motor with Ipilot.

Was originally thinking just canadian tire nautlilus group 31 (100 AH)

For lead acid batteries I’ve had the best luck with interstate.

I also need a new trolling motor battery this spring…..in the past I’ve read plenty of positive comments about Kirkland (Costco) batteries here. Like to hear recommendations please…mine will just be a single 12V to power a 50lb MotorGuide

for lead acid the best I've found are DECCA's they used to be able to be bought directly from DECCA in Ajax
currently I switched over to Alberta Lithium 2 12v 50ah batteries hooked up for my 24v Terrova and it's mindblowing how much better they are. It's impossible to kill them in a sunup to sundown fishing day even in high winds. They charge fast and give consistent power with no fade all day long throughout the power cycle. my boat is actually 3mph faster with the reduction of weight out of the front of my boat.
now the bad HOLY CRAP ARE THEY EXPENSIVE!!!!!!!!

This is my exact setup, and I have been running these batteries for 3 years with no issues.

I have also switched to lithium’s
The last set of group 31 Canadian tire batteries lasted me about 3 years
I bought 2 100ah Ampheretime lithiums for just over $1000 on a Black Friday sale that power a 80lb terrova on my 1600 Lund Alaskan
This is my first season with them
I had to switch out my on board charger as well
    They better last!

with my lithium's I did 4 days on the Detroit River over Easter weekend. I charged my batteries everyday so I'd start at 100% not one day out of the 4 did I dip below 70% and I ran the trolling motor hard. my main battery never dipped below 88% and I ran 3 10" graphs, forward facing sonar and the livewells all day
the expense is extreme but the performance is unbelievable

Well I ended up going with what was going to save me some money... That is by using Canadian Tire money

Chose to go with two Group 31 12V AGM batteries for the trolling motor. $96 after tax for ~$960 worth of batteries seemed like a good deal for me!

Just went with the Nautilus batteries which I know are made by random manufacturers depending on the seasons but for the amount I will be able to get out they should be fine!

Now to wait for this work rotation to be over in order to use the boat...

I ended up repairing my battery with my smart charger….$100 on the charger saved $200 on a battery - I guess the trick is running the repair cycle a few times
