    Default Hunting 16a

    Hello everyone,

Looking for any advice or recommendations on hunting in 16a. Looking at different access points and canoe routes. Specifically for moose season as I have a cow/ calf tag for the area. Wondering what the hunting pressure is like and what the the bear and deer activity are like on the area.

The north shore of Lake St Joseph is in 16a. Big lake with a gazillion miles of shoreline and lots of habitat. Bear should be good too. No Deer up there. There is a single public launch off 599 south of Pickle Lake. Have not been there since 1995 but don't imagine much has changed. Pressure drops at a geometric rate every mile further you get from the launch. You could easily paddle yourself a 100 miles into nowhere from that launch.

Walleye and pike fishing is among the best in the province.

The wilderness is not a stadium where I satisfy my ambition to achieve, it is the cathedral where I worship.
