Has too much time on their hands
A good friend of mine is a high up in the commercial real estate industry (big malls and large plazas). He said that since Covid, retailers are ALL suffering... all across the continent..
Vacancies and outright abandonment of retail space is and will occur, even in the big cities... E-commerce and a slowing economy is to blame..
don't let the low unemployment fool you... the economy is on a life line and things are going to get a ugly in the coming years. Doesn't help that Cdns have the highest personal debt load among industrialized countries. DOn't blame govt for that. People want everything now and without thought.. .they just use their credit car. My old man never bought anything unless he could buy it with the cash he had in his bank account.. We are addicted to credit.

That’s too bad, been a while since I stopped there.
I always enjoyed chatting it up with Jack.

William's Arms in Port Perry is closing. Jack passed away a while ago. His wife has been running the business, but, with all the new regulations and road blocks being thrown up by the government,it's becoming too much. Sad to see them go. Sign of the times,I guess.

We have a gun smith in Embrun but he's old probably 70's. When he goes nobody will take his place.
I wonder about Gunco in Ottawa, is someone going to take over when he's done?
This is a dying trade an nobody is filling in the shoes.
