    I like using a soft plastic on a hook with no weight added. The worm slowly sinks down then and looks more natural IMO.

    Do like most of the guys i see drive the boat right into the tree if the fish is not there after you hit the branches just throw out from the bank where he probably scared off to then you dont have to worry about the trees LOL

    I have good luck with surface lures for bass, just at day break as the sun is starting to peek over the horzon or in the evening as the sun is just setting. Alternatively, a worm on a float is usually a good producer anytime of day, I use a lighter leader below the float in case of snags I only loose a hook.
