Heart Burn Licked
I use to get heart burn a lot - would take Tums for awhile then would take Nexium for a couple days - that would stop the heart burn for awhile but eventually it would come back - I watched this doctor on the net and listened to what he had to say - the problem is not too much acid in your stomach but just the opposite - not enough acid - so I started drinking some apple cider vinegar in water - 1 tsp in a glass of water each morning and then a little during the day - also I don't drink anything while I eat so not to dilute the acid in my stomach - it works - believe me haven't had any heart burn since -

1/4 teaspoon of baking soda in a half cup of water works well for me.

Bad habits are usually the cause. Your diet is #1 and/or not so much what you eat but when you eat it. I use to get it (heartburn) bad and YES vinegar is a quick cure or chug a can of Coke. I found that I can't eat chocolate in the evening was a biggie for me, also cut back on my coffee consumption and it didn't help I was on shift work either. Sleeping on my left side seems to help. I rarely get it now but like a moth to the flame I give in and have a big piece of Chocolate Chocolate Chip Sour Cream Cake for dessert.
