    Default Annual Physical

Well today I got my annual check up by an internist - everything seems to be good - got a script for some blood work so won't have the full results for a few days - I always have my cholesterol checked because I eat a lot of eggs - a least two every day - last time my cholesterol levels were good so I keep eating the eggs - from my own chickens - it is a good idea to have such a check up every year in case something needs attention - I had a brother in law who wouldn't go for a check up - he would tell me that if something was wrong with him he would rather not know about it - well you guessed it - he ended up with late stage prostate cancer and died - if they would have found it earlier they could have done something for him - a lot of friends had this type of cancer and were cured of it because it was found early - so take some time off and get a good physical -

I don't really like going to the Dr's always afraid their going to tell me something bad.

I do some of the right things, I take my pills for diabetes and cholesterol, I get my blood work done some of the times.

I am getting a small mini operation on my leg for varicose veins and not everything is cover by our free system, going to cost me 900.00 bucks for this.

I also hate hospitals people go there to die. Both my Grandfathers died in the hospital one on the operating table and the other one on his way out after a heart operation, had a heart attack. My mother went in for an operation and stroke while she was under. If I am going to go I hope it's fast. I'm only 53 I highly doubt I will be around as you have Joe.

But I am glad your still with us and if your ever going to pass by Ottawa let me know.

Yup , nothing makes a man shiver like when your doctor snaps on a latex glove and says " Drop your pants and bend over and we'll talk about the weather" . I'm pretty sure he's not thrilled about it either but that's his job and yours is to "take it like a man". LoL ! Prostate and colonoscopy exams are two of the most important things to keep track of, not to mention weird skin moles and catching things early is way better than too late !

As for hospitals ? A double edged sword eh ? They bring babies into the world and fix our minor boo-boos but are also a weigh station for that trip beyond. I guess to die in your sleep or a massive heart attack or getting hit by lightning are quick ways to check out but I'm holding out for being shot in the back of the head by a jealous husband while his wife screams my name.

And that's why I get my prostate checked.

If a tree falls on your ex in the woods and nobody hears it,you should probably still get rid of your chainsaw. Just sayin'....
