    Default Winchester sx4 slug gun

Hi everyone, just wondering if anyone has any experience with the Winchester sx4 slug gun, I’m looking at the 20 gauge specifically. Any feed back you guys have would be appreciated 👍🏻 Thanks!

What do you want to know. I have the 20 gauge SX3 slug gun, there isn't much difference between the 2. Functions great and really easy on the recoil compared to the 12 gauge 870 I had previously. It does seem to get dirty easier than my beretta but doesn't affect it at all and its easy to break down to clean. A couple things irked me but really are no big deal. The safety is very loud but as long as you keep a finger and thumb on either side when flipping it on and off it helps a lot while your hunting. The other thing is there is a sharp edge in the mag tube that jabs my sausage finger when loading and draws blood. Use caution when loading. Lol. Mine was extremely fussy to find a sabot it would shoot well. I tested $200 worth of slugs and nothing gave me anything resembling a pattern until the last ones I tried. 2 3/4" accutips. It was like night and day, so I loaded up on them and am very happy with the gun now.

I have an sx3 as well I use for bird hunting, I know what you mean when you are talking about the sharp edge lol. Thanks for all the info! How far did you get it patterned at and how was the grouping, I have lots of 20gauge Accutips for it if I decide to purchase it

The only certain way to determine performance would be to shoot YOUR slug gun at a target out to 100m. Generally, Rem Accutip sabots (particularly 3in loads) are very accurate, usually MOA or better at such range.

If you haven't already done so, you may also wish to consider the Savage 220 - generally, most accurate with that specific ammo.

I was getting a 2" group at 100yds and with the BDC shotgun reticle on the scope could hit a 10" gong regularly at 200yds with the accutips on a calm day. I found putting the 200yd hash mark at the top of the gong it would hit dead centre or 5" low. With the other sabots it was likely 5-8 inch groups at 100yds. It was gross. Lol
