Canadian boaters will eventually have to pay for pleasure craft licences (PCLs), but the OFAH is reminding members that the fees haven't been implemented yet.

I just renewed mine after receiving a reminder notice. Transport Canada required a recent photo of the boat and a copy of my driver's License as proof of ID which was much more data than when I last did it ten years ago. I got the impression that there's definitely a preparation for something coming down the pipe sooner rather than later.
