Call Question
One of my goose calls is a "White Front Speckle Belly Call" made by Mick Lacy Game Calls. On the package it also says "double stainless steel reeds" and "adjustable o-ring to change sound." I couldn't find any info about it on the website; the only White Front goose call was blue and white. Mine has the same colouring as the Wood Duck call. It is from an auction sale so maybe the calls and packages got switched around? The call has both the double stainless steel reeds and the o-ring. I don't know anything at all about calling either species so I'm completely in the dark as to how it should sound. All help appreciated.
Thanks,
Ryan L

May I ask why you bought a specklebelly call? I've had an encounter with a speck once in 50 years of hunting ON. It's found predominately in western Canada; especially SK and AB

Here's a pretty good video on the various speck calls so you can hear what it may sound like

I'm with Stumblebum on that one. I've hunted Long Point for over 50 years and sometimes we get some strange birds passing through such as Snows, Specks, Pelicans and so on that don't usually use this Flyway but it does happen. Seeing as it was a gift from your Grandpa maybe a trip out west to honour it is in your future ?

Hello Ryan,
I once saw two (2) white-fronted geese at Long Point a few years ago ... never before (since 1978) and never since then ... it is truly a rare bird to see in southern Ontario.
