Default Sturgeon falls to Lake Nipissing

First time in the area and I'm going to be launching from Sturgeon Falls and heading out into Nipissing for a day.

    1. Curious how fast you are able to run the river to the main lake?

    2. Any tips for the day trip? Targeting anything really but some nice Walleyes would be good.

    3. anything I should be aware of? Besides the shallow water and rocks of course..

Well it’s a long run lol. Your not supposed to run more than 10kph if less than 30 meters from shore. The river is pretty wide and lots of people run at speed myself included. Just keep in mind to slow down when your forced closer to shore. How long it takes depends on your boat speed. For Nippissing navionics is highly recommended. There is a whole lot of safe open water, but there are some areas with massive boat eating rock ledges just inches below the surface depending where you are at!
