Tag question
OK my buddy applied for archery in one unit got his anterless there but applied in the control hunt in another unit he was sucesfull but the tag says nothing about what he can harvest in the control hunt. So can he use is anterless tag for the controlled hunt even though it has a different unit number ? Thanks

I think the default is buck unless your tag says different. My guess is the antlerless tag can only be used in the specified unit.

Antlerless tag ONLY good for the WMU it was issued for.
Buck hunt for the controlled hunt if in a different WMU.

No, his antlerless tag has to be used in the WMU its issued for. The controlled hunt will be Buck only.

Depends on the WMU. It will specify on your licence summary which is basically your controlled hunt validation. Ours in 93A says any deer so antlered or antlerless.

Yes Rick_iles is correct if he doesn't use his tag for antlerless in the WMU it was issued for then he can use it for either antlerless or antlered whatever is offered in the controlled hunt he applied for.
I do the same thing every year

yup guys are correct, it the same as additional tags, it will say of the summary what it is good for.

Yes one tag (one deer only on that one tag)...... Control hunt only allows you to use that one deer tag (if you have not used it yet) during the control hunt week you were successful.
It is only one tag you have, either use it during the archery hunt or use it during the control hunt date. As was mentioned, your hunting summary will say tell you what deer you can take during the control hunt

I got fined $250.00 for using my antherless tag for 94b in 92a during the controlled hunt.
Fortunately I had another tag, they made me put it on the deer and said that I could keep the deer.
So it had both tags on it.
