Well I disagree about putting it at the end, as a lot of the geese are gone then, yes there are still geese around but not as many as now. Most if not all the fields are worked up so no where to find a field. But each to their own.

Anyway we had a good 3 day hunt now the best and not the worst. We got a 2 man limit on thursday, 4 on Friday and 9 on saturday. We hunted different fields each day. We'd have gone back to the first field but the farmer had already turned half of it over by 930 Friday morning. My girl Samantha did a great job retrieving the birds and did it better each day, this is her 2nd year of actual hunting as she was gun shy for the first to seasons, now just loves it. So I really don't care how many geese we get, I just love watching her do what she loves to do. So here a picture of the last day, and Sam working.

    nice job!
i agree with you, i love both the early and late goose season for their own reasons. i love early season because its still nice and warm for fair weather hunters and easy to get kids out. no getting stuck in the snow. going for a swim isnt as big of a deal, although i had 50 birds pile into a river bend where i could have easily jumped them and thought, i really dont feel like going for a swim to opted to ride home on the farmer's tractor bucket instead.
late season is a great way to beat those winter blahs. its starting to get lighter, the sun feels like its a bit brighter on those clear days and its an unofficial kick off to spring being right around the corner for us. nothing better than blasting a goose that spins like a windmill and then lands with its butt out of the snow.

    to each their own.
