    I've eaten it a few times from a young deer. I love it, wish it was all safe to eat, but I limit myself.

    I’ll ignore the first part of your post, as for why I don’t eat it? I was never raised on liver and when I did try it, I didn’t care for it.

    We always made a meal from a nice liver from a young deer while in camp. That was before the recommendations from the MNRF not to consume it. We haven’t since !

    Huh ! the liver and heart were the first to be consumed on the 2 deers ive gotten last 2 years !
    good to know, wont be eating the liver now.

    yeah liver and heart was always the first thing eaten for super that night. My dad sure could cook it. I haven't eaten liver in a very long time, I still eat the heart though. I do give my dog a small piece after she finds my deer for me, she looks forward to it.

    Not a liver fan safe or not. Heart though is yummy. Slice it up real thin and stir fried with mixed peppers, red onion and shrooms - hunt camp bliss!
