Thanks guys, it was the toughest recover I have made, or I should say we. Oh Sam gets her favourite treat at site, I give her a small piece of the liver, then dog bone at truck. Then at butcher she got about 5 more milk bones.

congrats on the deer. you are right, its a risky shot and you found out why. good to hear you recovered it! ive taken those kinds of shots with a gun. clean miss in my history luckily but its usually a hit or miss kind of shot.
