How did everyones moose hunt pan out
Got word from our guys up at the camp on Wednesday. They got a calf on Monday and A 2 - 3 year old bull on Wednesday afternoon. They had a great hunt. From Monday through to Wednesday afternoon they saw a total of 12 moose as well as lots of deer sign. Wish I'd of been up there with them but this is my busy time of year...
Heading up tomorrow morning for 3 - 4 days to see if I can get a bear or two treed. My son is coming up with me which is a bonus... Nice time to bond...

A couple of moose down and they saw twelve others moose and some deer too. Sounds like a great place to hunt!

Had a cow/calf tag.
We hunt deep in the woods
About 3-4k paddle in previous years, however this year due to dry season, literally walk on bottom of dried up riverbed most of way and waded the rest while dragging loaded canoe behind. Lol
Called in the same bull twice early into hunt, took some pics and let him go on his way.
Was pretty hot and quite the rest of hunt.

I hunted a week down the South Road but basically hunted off my front field as I was solo and had a calf tag. So I would say it was a very quiet week, I did not hear a single gun shot until
Saturday evening off to the west Glen Alda, three shots a gap and a single shot. I did not even cut a track on the consession road until leaving on Sunday morning, a fresh yearling track crossing. In the past we did have a neighbour who ran dogs in Moose season and they did get animals moving if they were there but that stopped a few years ago.

Hunted with a group this year, got a bull on Sunday, my son(1st time) shot a calf on Tuesday, could've had the cow too but the tag had gone back to camp(besides I believe that shooting cows only kills the population), overall a great hunt with great people, had a lot of laughs

how can one believe shooting cows kills the population but shooting a calf doesn't?

Hmm.. didn't we get a lot of rain from July through early Sept? Maybe just down here? I had to cancel a few fishing trips this summer due to heavy rains/storms..

Whatever you kill is going to take one more animal out of the equation! A cow needs a bull to make more moose! Oh wait, maybe not anymore.. are there now transgendered moose?!

If I am not mistaken a calf has less than a 50% chance of seeing their first birthday and hunting has very little to do with it. Mainly predation and starvation. An adult moose has already passed that very difficult first year.
