Saddle hunt coyotes?
Hi I am an avid angler and a new hunter.
I live in the urban jungle aka Toronto.
I was wondering if anyone has successfully targeted coyotes bowhunting like they do for deer but use calls instead of bait?
I figured that the near by crown lands would have good coyote numbers and they can be hunted year round.

I've shot quite a few coyotes bowhunting
never purposely targeting them though. every single one has been shot walking down trails not over bait. they are pretty in tune with their surroundings so you better be pretty high up or have fantastic back cover

From personal observation the Coyote numbers are down compared to previous years, WMU87 and WMU79.

I have only seen 3 while deer hunting, 1 never made it other 2 gone before I could put a bolt in them. But that the only thing that I will screw up a deer hunt for and probably not screwing up the deer hunt as if there a coyote around not likely a deer

Would work really good, use a electronic caller to keep the sound on the ground. Mute it the second you see one. Hopefully that slows them down enough for an arrow. Would be good in a hardwood bush as you have the vantage point and see them coming easier

I used to use a climber right into the very late season, but it's problematic for 2 reasons. Firstly the bark freezes and you better be careful. And secondly all the trees look dead, and some are. You don't want to be swinging from those ones. So be sure to go marker the tree you want to climb before they shed their leaves.
