Cold weather boot insulators
Does anyone use these:
https://www.amazon.ca/ArcticShield-B...1060415&sr=8-7
I love the idea that they could be worn on outside of any boot, since it's easy to maneuver in a saddle, however at $100 seem a bit steep for an add-on
Is there any diy hacks that folks use to add warmth without sweating while walking in?
Thanks

Before I bought good boots I used to wear a thin neoprene sock. It worked for me.

Personally I have not used them but others who have say they worked well, back in the day we used to call these mickey mouse boots. My strategy is to buy boots a little big and wear two pairs of wool socks, one thin pair and one thick pair, alternatively pack boots with wool inerts work well.

X2 for the Mickey Mouse boots. Bring extra socks, your feet tend to sweat a lot in them.

My feet stay warmer now that I use the under armour moisture wicking socks. Drier means warmer.

Personal I would save my money and buy a good pair of Baffins. You take your foot out of those and its steaming. Its always good once and awhile to move. Remember most boot cold weather ratings are not rated for sitting its rated when moving so keep that in mind.

The thought process is - it goes over any boot
So mid season - will over hiking boot (on windy day)
Later/wet season - will be over neoprene+rubber waterproof
Snowing season - will be over winter boot
