Launch the boat for perch fishing?
Anyone else thinking about launching the boat to perch fish Simcoe or Couch? Does anyone know if the lake is ice-free at the Couch boat ramp? This non-winter is insane, with no sign of cold weather to come. Kawarthas aren't even frozen yet!

Get er done buddy. Me personally i'd be wearing a Stang Suit though this time of year. You go overboard this time of year ice or no ice a standard PFD only gonna give you 15 or 20 minutes.

If you're unlucky and can't get out immediately (5 minutes or less),cold water shock can paralyze quickly (after 10 minutes) if it not stopping a heart instantly upon immersion. Mustang survival suits (or even ordinary insulated fishing attire) go a long way extending that time, but, going overboard in this weather is usually a death sentence. If one can't get out of the water immediately,it's all over except the funeral.
If a tree falls on your ex in the woods and nobody hears it,you should probably still get rid of your chainsaw. Just sayin'....

Passed over the narrows on Hwy 12 Orillia yesterday and all appeared to be open……that would be a cold fishing adventure for sure….Mustang suit and don’t go alone. I would join you if my boat was winter-stored in the garage but she’s all tarped up and put to bed….
