Thanks for sharing the link.
Just to clear things up, these data are for the 2023 draw which was just released. This information is more in depth than what is published in the hunting summary as it displays each step of the draw.
I just did an analysis of WMU 15B and my findings are similar to last year. For Gun-Bull and Gun Cow/Calf: tags were awarded and claimed in the primary draw - choice 1, and secondary draw -choice 1 only. Applying for a tag with second or third choices in either draw was a waste of time. Many tags went unclaimed e.g. 23% of bull tags and 26% if cow/calf
.
A quick look at 21A resulted in similar percentages of unclaimed tags: 21% of gun-bull and 26% of gun-cow/calf tags.
The large number of unclaimed tags saves some moose but the downside is that many hunters have to wait an additional year or two for a tag.
Ideally, the MNRF should tweak the system to allocate the remaining tags… as long as they don’t resurrect the telephone draw.
I would be interested in hearing about the results in other WMU’s.

Thanks Sam,
When you enter the filters and you put in for "YEAR" you are offered three choices which are 2021-2022-2023. I picked 2023 and am pretty sure those numbers matched the available tags for 2023.
Like I said there were no Calf results which I reported to MNRF and am waiting for a reply.
About a month ago I had asked MNRF when these were going to be available and they told me early March
Maybe I'm missing something here

Yes, the results for last year (2023) are available. My response said 2022, but that was a typo error and I corrected it to read 2023.

Something defiantly needs to be done about left over tags,
The people with high number of points and apply to a area with very low required points and don't except their tag are just d!nks.
If in round 2 you don't have a option and you have to except it and pay and loose points if drawn may change how people apply.

Im sure there may be legimate reasons in some instances but not in others. I turned dow a tag during Covid because suddenly I didn’t have the allocation of vacation days that I did because the company decided to arbitrarily use them against some of the days I didn’t work. It was a one week season that ultimately wasn’t worth participating in.
I never expected to get a tag but I tried to keep a weeks vacation back in case I did. Circumstances change in certain instances. For those instances you should be allowed to throw the tag back into the draw within a week or two and have it re-allocated.
A bad day hunting or fishing is better than a good day at work.
