Runs are becoming more exciting
Days are getting longer, temps are on the rise, ground is getting softer. Like a kid waiting for Christmas the anticipation grows every day. Dogs locked up and I waited for the answer to the question "are they back yet?" but at last only a short billed worm eater broke from the scrub. Soon my little friends will return.

They're back. Managed to lay eyes on a woodcock. Wasn't a photo op though as sticky as they are in the fall, they are hair triggers in the spring. Had to settle for some short bills as point bait.

They're back in my area. I could hear them from all directions Saturday morning when I was out walking the dog at sunrise.
